Preschool Aged Autism Evaluations

Individualized, neuroaffirming, strengths based autism assessments and diagnoses for preschoolers aged 3-5.

This process typically involves three or four 50-75 minute in person visits as well as extensive review of medical and developmental history, specialist reports, parent and teacher or childcare provider reports and questionnaires, and report writing.

My final report includes recommendations for engaging with your child’s strengths and providing supportive services for their differences. I strive for a neuroaffirming, strengths focused lens and language. I am designated as a Center for Excellence in Autism Diagnosis in Washington state. This designation allows me to diagnose autism in children and establish an interdisciplinary care plan. My family nurse practitioner medical license allows me to prescribe other therapies such as occupational and speech therapies, with or without an autism diagnosis.

I use a variety of assessment questionnaires, interviews, and observation tools to complete this process. I participate in autism diagnostics mentoring programs through Providence ECHO and UW Medicine Project ECHO.

While I am qualified to diagnose autism, your insurance company may have specific requirements regarding the credentials for who can order specific therapies or they may require that certain assessment tools be used. At this time I do not administer the ADOS or ADI assessment tools. As a Center of Excellence, WA state Medicaid accepts my autism diagnoses and referrals for ABA therapy and other autism related services.

Billing specifics:

I am an out of network provider and do not bill insurance directly at this time. Payment for services is automatically charged to card on file at the end of each visit. I can provide you with a Superbill and itemized receipt for office visits that you can submit to insurance for reimbursement.

I charge $200/ hour including time spent reviewing history and records and write up. Thorough documentation and write-ups are essential for coverage of therapeutic services.

Complete autism evaluations with us typically cost $1000 – $1600. You can save time and money if you are able to provide records of speech, occupational therapy evaluations and school district IEPs during or before the intake visit.
